By on June 4, 2009

Marklund will hold its own special Olympics—the Summer Games—from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 13, at the Marklund Hyde Center, 1S450 Wyatt Drive, Geneva.

The public is invited to cheer on the residents as they participate in dozens of adapted sporting events, such as marathon walk, T-ball, golf, soccer, bowling, sensory tent, sand art and “Human Tic-Tac-Toe.”

Marklund is a nonprofit network of services providing a full-life experience for infants, children and adults with severe developmental disabilities. Volunteers are sought, too. Call Cathy Nikrandt at (630) 593-5468.
