The following reports were obtained from the local police departments. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
• Sean A. Bauer, 29, of the 400 block of Willow Street in Elburn, was arrested at 3:17 a.m. Aug. 9 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Police stopped him as he was southbound on Third Street north of Laverne Street in Elburn, because the vehicle he was driving had a loud exhaust system and a nonfunctioning rear place light.
• Justin T. Tyler, 25, of the 600 block of Cambridge Avenue in Elburn, was arrested on Aug. 4 on a warrant on charges of aggravated batter and resisting a peace officer, stemming from an incident occurring 3:56 p.m. July 28. At that time, police responded to a residence in the 600 block of Cambridge, after Tyler called 911 complaining about treatment from an acquaintance he said tried to sell him marijuana.
When police arrived at the residence, Tyler, who was the only person present, swore at the officer and denied calling 911. When the officer went to the squad car to use his radio to confirm the 911 caller, Tyler called 911 again to complain that the police kicked his dog. When the officer returned to the residence, Tyler said he had overdosed on drugs and struggled with police. He was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva. Police said they did not kick a dog during the incident.
