COUNTYâ€”The Kane County Board of Review will offer nine Property Tax Clinics for Kane County taxpayers in 2009.
The clinics will:
â€¢Â Help taxpayers understand how property taxes work, including an explanation of recent changes in the law.
â€¢ Dispel myths about taxes and assessments.
â€¢Â Explain the appeal process, and provide the necessary forms and rules for filing appeals.
â€¢Â Provide an opportunity for taxpayers to make sure they have all homestead exemptions to which they are entitled.
The first clinic will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, and the clinics will continue each first and third Tuesday through Dec. 15. All clinics will be held in the auditorium of Building A in the Kane County Government Center Campus on Route 31 in Geneva.
