Seven candidates to run for three trustee positions

by Martha Quetsch

The 2009 Elburn Village President election will be a race.

Patricia Romke filed for candidacy in the April 7 Village President election against Dave Anderson. Three-term Village President Jim Willey is not seeking re-election.

Romke, a local Realtor and a village trustee since 2007, said if elected, she will focus strongly on fiscal responsibility.

“I feel I can lead Elburn in the right direction as we plan for the future in this difficult economy,” Romke said.

Anderson, former longtime owner of The Grocery Store in Elburn, said when he announced his candidacy in November that among his goals if elected is having the village create a new long-range plan.

Romke and Anderson were among several Elburn residents submitting municipal election petitions, which were due Jan. 26. They include seven others, who will vie for three Village Board seats.

The three trustee positions that are up for election April 7 currently are held by Tom Burgholzer, Jeff Humm and Craig Swan.

Six-year trustee Humm and two-term trustee Burgholzer will seek re-election, but three-term trustee Craig Swan said he will not run again.

In addition to Humm and Burgholzer, village trustee candidates include Ken Anderson, David Gualdoni, Joseph (Jerry) Schmidt, Robert Swartz and Jeffrey Walter.

An election is held every two years for three of the six trustee positions on the Village Board.

The Elburn trustee seats currently held by Romke, Bill Grabarek, and Gordon Dierschow, will be up for election in 2011.

Thank You Elburn Herald for doing login required!
Thank you Dave Anderson for being above any of this.

A leader is anyone who influences a group toward obtaining a particular result. It is not dependant on title or formal authority. Leaders are recognized by their capacity for caring for others, clear communication, and a commitment to persist. Leadership can be defined as one’s ability to get others to willingly follow.

These qualities above are the reason we all need to vote….
    Please Vote David Anderson.

****David Anderson For Village of Elburn President**** April 7, 2009 will be an important day for The Village of Elburn. Voters will have the opportunity to choose a new Village President and new Village Trustees. I am asking the voters to elect my father David Anderson as new Village President. With his many years of community involvement the Village will have a leader with tremendous experience, dedication, integrity and the connections to other government offices that the Village greatly needs to move forward with multi-jurisdictional projects such as the Anderson Road Overpass, and possible Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion. If you would like further information please see http://www.davidandersonforelburn.com. I would like to thank everyone for their support during my father’s campaign. Your vote to elect David Anderson as Village of Elburn President will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you to those who voted for me, I appreciate your support. One of the true gifts of this campaign was the opportunity to meet so many Elburn residents and I will always be grateful for that. I have offered my congratulations to Dave Anderson earlier this evening on his achievement, and I will support him as our Mayor. We face many challenges and working together as a team I believe we can accomplish great things. My best wishes to the new Trustees.

    Sincerely,
    Patricia Romke
