Kaneland v. Rochelle football preview

By on September 11, 2009

Kaneland (1-1) at Rochelle (2-0) 7:30 p.m.

The last tour of the Western Sun Conference begins on Friday night in
Rochelle.

The Kaneland Knights, trying to shed the stench of last week’s 17-14 loss to
visiting Huntley, look to handle to the overpowering running attack of the
host Hubs with its unique spread offense.

Rochelle is coming off of a 22-0 win vs. former NCIC rival Dixon. The Hubs
defense has yielded only six points combined in the first two games.

Kaneland and Rochelle are no stranger to each other in this decade. The
Knights have fought with the purple-clad Hubs five times in the last nine
years, and have gone 2-3.

One of those wins for the Knights occurred in week three of the 2006 season
in a 54-51 affair that is currently 25th on the IHSA all-time list for most
points combined in a single game, and week three of last season, when Joe
Camaliere used a QB draw with 4:21 to go for a 16-12 victory. The good
fortune was set up with a 37-yard completion to WR Pat Fleming.
