Mary Sineni, 94, of Yorkville, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, at Hillside Healthcare Center. She was born on May 26, 1915, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Matise) Amodeo.
She loved to cook and bake and was especially famous for her cinnamon raisin bread, cheesecake and lasagna. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Oswego.
Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law, Charlene (Tom) Sineni-Jacobs; grandchildren, Tamara (Gregory) Poynter, Debra (Timothy) McGrouary, Michelle (Kevin) Craven and Joyce Jerolaman-Glynn; great-grandchildren, Christopher Poynter, Sean and Matthew McGrouary, Lucas Craven; sister, Connie Ousen; brother Joseph (Violet) Amodeo; and sister-in-law, Louise Amodeo.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Jerry; stepdaughter, Marge Jerolaman; sisters, Rose (Raymond) Hall, Anna (Arthur) Price; brother, James Amodeo; brother-in-law, Eric Ousen.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove. Burial will be private at Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside, Ill.
