On Thursday, things were looking dire for Lady Knights volleyball (4-5, 2-1 Western Sun Conference) against host Glenbard South.
Having already dropped one game by a 25-15 score, the Lady Knights struck back and won two in a row to take the match, 25-18, 25-13.
The Lady Knights took home a victory thanks in large part to the performance of Katy Dudzinski. Dudzinski put forth 10 kills and two blocks in the affair.
“We came out against Rochelle with a lot of force and energy,†Dudzinski said. “We weren’t having fun in the first game, so in the second and third game we came back and really exploded. It was all about getting back to how we can play.â€
“It’s a little bit sweeter when you’re down after one game and come back to win the last two,†coach Todd Weimer said. “The girls are super excited, and we can’t wait for next week.â€
Jessica Lubic also had 22 assists and five kills.
Against Sycamore, Kaneland lost 25-23, 25-19. Lubic added 15 assists and two aces.
In the Kaneland JV Invite, the Lady Knights finished fifth, earning a 25-8, 25-9 win over Elmwood Park. Geneva finished first.
The varsity Knights look to beat Batavia at home on Thursday, Sept. 17, and host Geneva on Tuesday, Sept. 22.
