It was a win some, lose some week for the Knights golf squad.
On Monday, KHS golf lost a 155-175 decision to the Yorkville Foxes.
However, Kaneland followed that up with a Tuesday win vs. Rochelle by a 165-173 mark to bring its record to 2-4 in dual action.
Yorkville’s Conor McCormack shot a 32 against the Knights. The top score for the Knights was asset Hayley Guyton, who shot a 41. J.C. Gillett managed a 43, while Josh Schuberg shot a 44. Hayden Senese was close behind with a 47.
The JV roster lost a 177-188 matchup with Yorkville despite the best efforts of Rhys Childs and Ryan Goodenough, who both shot 45.
On Thursday, the Knights lost a 157-166 battle with the DeKalb Barbs. Cody Schmitt of DHS shot a 38 to clinch medalist honors, while Guyton and Gillett shot 41′s. Schuberg and Tyler Hochsprung shot 42′s.
Against the Hubs, Troy Krueger shot a clutch 38, while Tyler Hochsprung managed a 42, as did Guyton.
Schuberg and Senese both shot 43 in the winning cause.
The JV Knights defeated Rochelle, 177-213. Luke Kreiter propelled Kaneland to a win with a 43 score, followed by Dan Miller at 44.
Kaneland gears up for host Glenbard South on Thursday, Sept. 17.
Golf follows that matchup with a home clash against Indian Creek and Plano on Monday, Sept. 21, at 4 p.m.
