Maple Park man killed in auto accident

MAPLE PARK—At approximately 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 12, the Kane County Sheriff’s Department responded to Route 64 and County Line Road in Virgil Township for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.

A 1995 Ford Ranger pick-up, driven by Donald Haug of Maple Park, was travelling north on County Line Road and began to turn west onto Route 64 when it was struck by a 1998 Honda Civic, driven by Nicole Rausch of Algonquin, Ill., which was westbound on Route 64.

Northbound traffic on County Line Road has a stop sign; there are no stop signs for traffic on Route 64. No citations have been issued.

Haug was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital in Sycamore, Ill. where he later succumbed to his injures.

Rausch was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
