Fourth Annual TS Family Day at Kuipers

By on October 21, 2009

The Fourth Annual TS Family Day on the Farm at Kuipers Family Farm in Maple Park is set for the scariest day of the year, Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31.

The event will raise money for the TS Alliance, an organization formed to find a cure for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, a devastating disease that causes tumors to form on any organ in the body.

Local resident, Stone Wendel, was born with TSC 12 years ago and his parents, George and Becky of Elburn, have teamed up with Kuipers and have created a great way for families to enjoy their farm and raise money at the same time. Each year the event has grown and this year it got a little bigger! Appearing this year for the first time in the area, the Blue Thunder Ride Truck. The Blue Thunder Ride Truck is a replica of the original Blue Thunder monster truck, but this one anyone can ride! $5 will get you a ride on the truck and 100 percent of the proceeds is going to go directly to the TS Alliance. After an exciting ride on Blue Thunder, stop by the Orchard Shop & Bakery for their famous apple cider doughnuts, home baked pies and much, much more!

Blue Thunder will be operating from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Kuipers Family Farm open til 5 p.m.
