St. Peter Womenâ€™s Club hosts shopping night social
Genevaâ€”The women of St. Peter Church in Geneva offer a Girls Night Out on Friday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in the churchâ€™s multipurpose room and gym, 1891 Kaneville Road in Geneva.
â€œSip, Shop & Socialize,â€ sponsored by the St. Peter Womenâ€™s Club, will feature raffles, refreshments, and displays of more than 30 vendors.
Wine, cheese, coffee and desserts will be served. In addition to a basket raffle, the Women’s Club will sell raffle tickets for a quilt and a hand-painted rocking chair.

Hosanna offers program on community resources
St. Charlesâ€”A free informational session to acquaint people with helpful community resources will be presented at Hosanna! Lutheran Church on Friday, Oct. 23, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
During these economic times, many people are living on reduced incomes and are finding it difficult to get their daily needs met. This informative session, facilitated by Lazarus House Executive Director Darlene Marcusson, will give people hands-on help in locating resources for issues such as health care, rental subsidies, child care subsidies and food.

Union Congregational hosts turkey supper
North Auroraâ€”Union Congregational Church will offer its annual Turkey Supper and Bake Sale on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The church will serve dinner from 4 to 7:30 p.m. There will be a free-will offering with the proceeds going to benefit Helping Hands Corps and India Medical Camps.

Calvary Episcopal hosts family fall festival
Bataviaâ€”Parents and children are invited to Calvary Episcopal Church for a Family Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon.
Come for games, pumpkin carving, cookie decorating and trick or treating. Come dressed in costume and you might win a prize.

St. Charles Episcopal offers craft fair, bake sale
st. charlesâ€”St. Charles’ Episcopal Church, 994 N. 5th Ave., St. Charles, will host its annual Craft Fair and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The juried show offers handcrafted items for home decorating and holiday giving, including fleece robes for children, blankets, toys and adult fashion accessories. The fair is handicapped accessible.

Sanctuary of Batavia offers Halloween alternative event for kids
Bataviaâ€”Sanctuary of Batavia will continue its tradition of hosting an Oct. 31 alternative.
The County Fall Festival is a family event from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. Kids will enjoy games, prizes and an American Castle hopper plus take home a bag of candy. In addition, the church will have face painting. The community is invited. There is no cost. Costumes are not necessary. A free hot dog dinner will be served.

Rejoice Lutheran offers Trunk-Or-Treat event
Genevaâ€”Rejoice Lutheran Church in Geneva will host Trunk-Or-Treat, a free event for families with children who want to have all the fun, without the scariness, of Halloween.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place Saturday, Oct. 31, from 2 to 4 at Rejoice Lutheran, located at 0N377 N. Mill Creek Drive, Geneva.
Children are invited to trick-or-treat from the trunks of cars parked along a safe, supervised parkway. Cars will be decorated with fun Halloween themes. Children and their families are welcome inside the church to enjoy free hot chocolate, apple cider and popcorn. Participants may also bring carved pumpkins to display inside the church.

BATAVIAâ€”Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia offers grants once each year to the community to improve the lives of people living in the Fox Valley area. Emphasis is given to supporting ministry to and within special populations with unmet needs.
