Dixon man in critical condition after crash in Sugar Grove

Sugar Grove—Bert Lee Olson, 37, of the 300 Block of North Ottawa Avenue in Dixon, Ill., was in critical but stable condition at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Monday morning following a crash that occurred Sunday at 11 p.m.

At 11 p.m. on Sunday, a passing motorist who was westbound on Route 56 east of Route 47 reported seeing a pickup truck off the road. It appeared to have rolled over. Responding emergency personnel located Olson in the grass approximately 100 feet west of the vehicle. It appeared that he had been ejected from the truck when it rolled over.

Olson was transported to Mercy Hospital in Aurora and then to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill.

The crash is still under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have information is asked to contact the Sugar Grove Police Department at (630) 466-4526, ext. 37.
