William ‘Willy’ Floyd Crook

            William “Willy” Floyd Crook, 56, of Reno, Nev., formerly of Lily Lake, passed away on Wednesday Nov. 12, 2008.  Willy was born Aug. 5, 1952 in Geneva, the son of William F. and Donna M. (Reinink) Crook.

            Willy attended Burlington Central High School in Plato Center, Ill., where he met his high school sweetheart, Doreen Kay Uthe. He graduated from high school in 1970 and married Doreen on June 28, 1980. Their daughter, Jenny, was born on Sept. 23, 1981, and their son, Teddy, was born exactly two years later on Sept. 23, 1983. They lived in Lily Lake, where Willy worked for Read Excavating until moving the family to Nevada in 1985.

            Willy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Kay (Jason) Peak of Sparks, Nev.; his son, Ted William Crook, now residing in Japan; his mother, Donna Crook of Elburn; his brother, Tom (Deborah) Crook of Elburn; one granddaughter, Emma Peak, and several nieces and nephews.

            He is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Doreen (Uthe) Crook; his father, William Crook, and sister, Linda Runge.

            Funeral services will be held at Ross, Burke & Knobel at 2155 Kietzke Lane in Reno, on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008. A burial at Mountain View Cemetery will follow the service.
