Dec. 31 Police blotter

The following reports were obtained from local police departments. The individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Elburn
• Someone pried open a coin machine at Elburn Car Wash, 120 W. Nebraska St., Elburn, and stole the change it contained sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 16 and 8 a.m. Dec. 17. The owner estimated the loss including damage to the machine totaled $50.

• A building at 153 Wright St., Elburn, that previously housed Little Knights daycare center, sustained water damage after someone removed a furnace thermostat on the premises. The vandalism led to the freezing and breaking of the building’s fire sprinkler system pipes.

• Anthony J. Burke, 26, of the first block of Seaton Street in Elburn, was arrested at 11:33 p.m. Dec. 25 for driving while his license was suspended. Police stopped him on Blackberry Creek Drive at Hughes Road in Elburn for speeding.

• Keith W. Woodall, of the 600 block of Carlisle Drive in Rochelle, Ill., was arrested at 5:45 a.m. Dec. 28 at the Elburn Metra station on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of unlicensed driving.

• A clerk at Jewel-Osco, 800 N. Main St., Elburn, reported seeing a white male leaving the store with a basket of about 14 cans of baby formula at 6:41 p.m. Dec. 28. She approached him and told him he needed to pay for the items but he proceeded to his vehicle in the store lot and left.

Sugar Grove
• Michael D. Dietzman, 40, of the 1000 block of Western Avenue, Yorkville, was found on Dec. 8 at 1:26 p.m. with an in-state warrant for contempt of court.

• Jonathan M. Winfrey, 26, of the 1200 block of Pleasant Place, Aurora, was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia on Dec. 15 at 4:40 p.m. He was northbound on Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.

• Jorge C. Aranda, 27, of the 200 bock of 3rd Street, Aurora, was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license, and driving with an obstructed windshield on Dec. 14 at 9:44 p.m. He had a rosary hanging from his rear-view mirror. He was northbound on Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.

• Michael A. Gonzalez, 43, of the 5800 block of 82nd Place, Burbank, Ill., was charged with driving on a suspended license or for disobeying a traffic control device (an illegal left turn) on Dec. 19 at 6:03 p.m. He was eastbound on Route 56 from Golfview Drive.

• Erasmo Betanzos, 47, of the 2200 block of South Wood, Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license on Dec. 19 at 2:32 p.m. He was at Galena Boulevard and Route 47.

• Michelle L. Westphall, 37, turned herself in on Dec. 18 on a warrant for four counts of aggravated driving under the influence, issued on Dec. 14.
