Against the Warriors, Deven Scholl earned a pin for a 24-9 lead, while WV crawled back into the dual with wins in the 130, 135 and 140 pound matches. Kyle Davidson nabbed a pin on a reversal while on the mat with :52 left in round 2 to go up 30-19.
“Going out there, I knew I had to get six,†Davidson said. “I needed to step up and I toned it down a bit and did the basics.â€
Later, Nick Michels earned a pin at 171 pounds for a the final tally.
“The pins definitely helped us out,†KHS coach Monty Jahns said. “We started out a little bit slow which is what happened two Saturdays ago. I think we’re awake now and we’re going to wrestling with a little more aggression.â€
The Knights go to Woodstock on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 along with Mundelein and Richmond-Burton.
