The following results are from local contested races, and have been aggregated from the counties of Kane, Kendall, DuPage and Cook, as well as the Aurora Election Commission. The results are considered unofficial, and the winners are in bold.

Three Republican candidates are competing in the Tuesday, March 20, primary to represent the party in the general election this fall. Democratic candidate Edmund James Nendick is running unopposed.

Two Republicans and two Democrats will face their respective party opponent in the primary election on Tuesday, March 20. The winner of each primary will run against each other in the general election this fall.

KANE COUNTY—Voters in unincorporated Kane County will vote on a referendum in March that would authorize the county to contract with an electricity provider for residents and small commercial retail customers outside municipalities in Kane County.

ELBURN—On the March 20 ballot, voters will be asked whether or not to authorize the village of Elburn to levy a new tax.

KANE COUNTY—After serving nearly 20 years in the Illinois State Senate, Chris Lauzen announced he’s running for Kane County Board Chairman.

Kane County—Kane County voters who observe or experience voting problems or irregularities during the Tuesday, April 5, consolidated election should call the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office to report the problems.

The early results showed it was a tight race, but supporters of Sugar Grove resident and current Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez, who had his Tuesday night election party at Piper’s Banquets in Aurora, unofficially won his re-election bid over challenger Donald E. Both incumbent Republican Chris Lauzen and his Democrat challenger, Leslie Juby, believe the state government needs to be reformed.

Political newcomer and Democrat John G. Dalton will face former Kane County State’s Attorney and Republican David Akemann Nov. 2 in a race for a 16th Judicial Circuit judgeship.

Kane County—Incumbent Kane County Sheriff and Democrat Pat Perez will face Republican challenger Donald E. Kramer on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Sugar Grove Village President Sean P. Michels of Sugar Grove is challenging incumbent State Sen. Chris Lauzen of Aurora in the Republican primary for the 25th State Senate District. Running unopposed in the primary is Democratic challenger Leslie N. Juby of Geneva.

Challenger Melisa Taylor of Sugar Grove is running against Republican incumbent Bill Wyatt of Aurora to represent the 5th District on the Kane County Board. There are no other candidates in any other parties running in the primary.
