Lady Knights track qualifies for State in five events after Sterling meet
STERLING, Ill.—Some might shake their head at a fourth-place showing for a girls track meet.

KANELAND—This is getting to be old hat for the Kaneland Knights baseball team.

KANELAND—Kaneland boys track had many competitors contributing to a winning effort during Friday’s second-ever Northern Illinois Big XII meet out at DeKalb’s Dresser Road digs.

KANELAND—Kaneland has had Sycamore’s number on the baseball field as of late, including last year’s regional title win.

KANELAND—Lady Knights track used the important meet at Streator High School to have a Northern Illinois Big XII pow-wow, and found they have a final output good for the middle of the pack.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Participation and fan interest in high school basketball remain strong throughout the nation, and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Basketball Rules Committee voted to retain one aspect of the sport that makes it unique from other levels of play.

On April 25, the Knight boys took care of DeKalb’s team in convincing fashion in a 110-36 dual.

KANELAND—When you put up a seven-spot in soccer, you know something’s gone right.

With six goals in the first half, the Lady Knights picked up a conference win and upped their record to 7-3-1 after a 7-0 solving of the visiting Rochelle Hubs.

SYCAMORE—Sycamore Speedway will be running the season opener this Saturday, May 5, with all cars and all classes. Gates open at 6 p.m., racing at 8 p.m.

KANELAND—After the 2011 results of the annual Peterson Prep boys track meet at Kaneland, the Knights’ fortunes could only get so much better.

KANELAND—Lady Knights softball continues to hit, which may give groans to opponents that see the Kaneland lineup on its upcoming schedule.

DIXON—Interstate 88’s corridor wields some talented girls track rosters, and Kaneland’s intent was to join that group after Friday’s Dixon Invite.

KANELAND—Nick Stahl of the Kaneland sophomore baseball team tossed a no-hitter on Tuesday, as the Knights took care of Yorkville, 4-0. The sophomores improved to 11-6.

MAPLE PARK—Maple Park Baseball will host its 4th annual Parents Night Out Raffle on Saturday, May 12, at 7 p.m.
