Defending 3A Champs look for precious medals once again
KANELAND—2011 was a summer to remember in the annals of the relatively short history of Kaneland High School baseball.

DETROIT—Left-handed pitcher Casey Crosby, a member of Kaneland’s Class of 2007, was added to the Detroit Tigers’ 40-man roster for spring training, and will attend camp with the MLB outfit in Lakeland, Fla., in spring 2012.

KANEVILLE—The Kaneville Village Board on Oct. 20 passed a resolution to purchase signs commemorating the Kaneland High School’s Boy’s Baseball State Championship.

GENEVA—The Kane County Cougars welcome all fans of baseball and fun to attend the Veeck Family “Night of 100 Promotions” game this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Elfstrom Stadium.

Kaneland’s Class 3A State Championship winning baseball squad is going “All In” at U.S. Cellular Field.
The Knights are scheduled to be honored for on-field pregame introductions at U.S. Cellular Field on the south side of Chicago before the White Sox vs. New York Yankees contest on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at 7:11 p.m.

2007 Kaneland High School graduate Casey Crosby, who now pitches for the Erie SeaWolves, a Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, started the Eastern League All-Star game July 13.

KANELAND—Coming a little later due to the storybook run of Kaneland baseball, KHS released its spring sports awards for 2010-11, highlighting a successful first step into Northern Illinois Big XII play.

JOLIET—In high school baseball postseason, only one team can follow through on its aim to run the table and win its last game.

JOLIET, Ill—Kaneland’s Bobby Thorson (right) pitched a complete game, while also getting two hits (including a triple) as the Knights rolled Waterloo 8-2 at Joliet’s Silver Cross Field Friday.

KANELAND—Four wins compared to no losses for Knights baseball? Consider that a decent week for the black-clad boys.

KANELAND—Knights baseball (13-10, 9-5 Northern Illinois Big XII) saw itself making the most of its hits, in both wins and losses this week.

KANELAND—If only Bobby Thorson wasn’t able to throw a complete game and hit a grand slam on April 20, the Knights-Barbs clash on the diamond would have been much closer.

KANELAND—Knights baseball is on a bit of a roll.

Thursday, Kaneland (6-4, 2-0 NIB-12) used two runs in the top of the second and two more in the top of the fifth to nail down a 4-1 win at Rockton, Ill., mainstay Hononegah High School.

GENEVA—The Kane County Cougars will play a regular season Midwest League game against the Quad Cities River Bandits on Thursday, May 26, at Busch Stadium.
