KANELAND—Knights baseball (13-10, 9-5 Northern Illinois Big XII) saw itself making the most of its hits, in both wins and losses this week.

KANELAND—If only Bobby Thorson wasn’t able to throw a complete game and hit a grand slam on April 20, the Knights-Barbs clash on the diamond would have been much closer.

KANELAND—Knights baseball is on a bit of a roll.

Thursday, Kaneland (6-4, 2-0 NIB-12) used two runs in the top of the second and two more in the top of the fifth to nail down a 4-1 win at Rockton, Ill., mainstay Hononegah High School.

GENEVA—The Kane County Cougars will play a regular season Midwest League game against the Quad Cities River Bandits on Thursday, May 26, at Busch Stadium.

KANELAND—Some talented players at key positions and the last-ever Western Sun Conference regular season title made for some good memories for Kaneland baseball in 2010.

GENEVA—The Kane County Cougars are designating the game on Thursday, July 14 as Facebook Night, a new venture for the organization in social media.

KANELAND—On Sept. 21, Drew French, a varsity baseball player at Kaneland High School, made an Under Armour Baseball Factory National Tournament Team in Oak Creek, Wis., after trying out at Milwaukee Technical Institute College.

KANELAND—Kaneland High School dished out end of the year and spring speason sports awards last week.

KANELAND—Kaneland baseball hit the 20-win mark once again and found itself with a chance at Western Sun Conference-glory if things tumble in the right direction.

KANELAND—Kaneland High School baseball isn’t in the habit of nice and easy wins, but they’re garnering wins nonetheless against their WSC brethren.

Kaneland Class of 2007 member Casey Crosby will start the 2010 campaign in Class A Lakeland for the Flying Tigers in Detroit’s farm system.

MAPLE PARK—Kaneland High School baseball seems to raise the bar every year, and this season hopes to be no different.

GENEVA—Both single-game and group tickets are now on sale for the Kane County Cougars’ 2010 season. The organization’s annual ticket-on sale event, held Saturday morning at Elfstrom Stadium, was the formal kickoff for single-game ticket sales.

COMSTOCK PARK, MI—The Detroit Tigers announced Sept. 23 that left-handed pitcher Casey Crosby has been named the organization’s Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
