SG basketball team conquers long-time champions

The Aurora Country Club team won the Sugar Grove Park District’s Over-32 Men’s Basketball Tournament this year, beating the defending champion Bud Light team 72-71. ACC led the entire game played on March 5.

County, township officials support Elburn’s wayside horn project

Elburn will not have to dip as far into its coffers as expected for the $300,000 wayside horn project to reduce train whistles in town. The reason is that the village will obtain partial funding from Blackberry Township, and possibly the state and federal governments.

Work to begin soon on Bliss, Merrill intersection

Turning left onto Merrill Road from the Bliss Road intersection is currently hazardous, but it should be much safer by November. According to Kane County Chief of Construction Dave Boesch, work on the intersection should begin by mid-May to June with a completion target of November.
