The 4-H Club will sponsor its annual Saturday Livestock Judging at 8 a.m. and Sunday Livestock Auction at 1 p.m.

This year the Elburn Lions Club will raffle off a new Chevy Camaro Convertible LT1 or $25,000, winner’s choice.

You may think that the only musical entertainment takes place on the Main Stage at Elburn Days this year.

This is the 16th year for the the annual jackpot calendar raffle. These calendars have become very popular to the local community.

SUGAR GROVE—Tempers flared and tensions were high at times as between 150 and 175 members of the public attended the village’s first public hearing regarding its proposed Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District.

The Elburn Leo Club is a youth group of boys and girls ranging in age from 8 years to 18 years old who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.

After two years, village employee manual still work in progress
ELBURN—After paying $5,000 to a consulting firm two years ago to come up with a workable employee manual, Elburn officials have decided it’s back to the drawing board.

YORKVILLE—To continue reaching out to citizens of the 50th District, state Rep. Kay Hatcher (R-Yorkville) has scheduled traveling office hours in communities including Elburn, Maple Park, North Aurora, Sugar Grove and Big Rock.

KANELAND—Kaneland Knights football achieved such great heights a year ago.

KANELAND—While an 11-11-2 record from a year ago might not seem super impressive, the way Kaneland boys soccer went about arriving to that final mark was noteworthy.

KANELAND—Could this be a lucky seventh for KHS volleyball coach Todd Weimer?

After a 2010 season that featured a record of 19-14, wins over Geneva (first time since 1991) and Sycamore (road win for the first time since 1999) for the first time in a long time, Weimer’s raring to get his girls on the court once again.

On a mid-August day with creeping humidity, the Knights boys cross-country pack attacks practice in a business-like manner—like it’s part of the day’s task.

KANELAND—Kaneland’s Silver Stars will hold tryouts on Sunday, Aug. 28, from noon to 4 p.m. in the East Gym at Kaneland High School.
