Deadline
Please mail, fax or e-mail all announcements by Monday at noon for publication in Thursday's paper.
The exception is holidays. On holiday weeks, the deadline is the previous Friday at 5 p.m.

Pictures
To arrange for a photographer to take a picture of your event, it is best to call in the request one to two weeks in advance. The best kind of pictures are ones with people doing something in them, rather than staged photos.
When sending photos, send well-focused pictures in color, if possible. Color photos reproduce better.
Identify the people in your photo from front to back, left to right. Submit this either typed or written on an attached sheet of paper.
To have a photo returned, include a self-addressed, stamped envelop.

Publication Tips
Submit stories at least two to three weeks in advance of an event. If there is an early registration or ticket deadline, send at least two weeks before those deadlines.

Feature Stories
We like to have human interest stories that cover our readership area. A human interest story shows a person doing something unique or special. If you know of someone who would be an interesting subject for a feature story, please call our office with that person's name and some background information. We would be happy to follow up with an interview of the subject.

Sports
We are interested in covering a wide range of sports that includes more than just what occurs at the local schools. If you are involved in any sport, from horseback riding to soccer to rock climbing, let us know in advance of the event. Include a contact person and a phone number.
