KHS soccer continues to get kicks
No word as to whether or not Kaneland soccer is petitioning to play every game tournament style at Burlington Central High School this year.
Judging by the intial matches this season, it might not sound like a horrible idea.
Continuing its good fortune, Kaneland (3-0-1) won its first two games of the Burlington Central tournament. They waxed Hamsphire on Saturday by a 6-1 margin and defeated Genoa-Kingston in a 2-1 affair.
The Knights scored three goals in the first half against the Whip-purs. Santiago Tovar and Genaro Garcia’s goals helped spur the attack.
The second half goals were scored by Nick Williams, Kevin Szatkowski and Chris Ott.
KHS got a Williams goal in the first half and used a Szatkowski goal on a Kevin Durrenberger assist to break a 1-1 tie in the second half.
Kaneland advances to the championship match on Saturday, Sept. 6.
