Volleyball drops season opener

            Kaneland Lady Knights volleyball found out why the Burlington Central Lady Rockets went 33-4 a year ago on Tuesday.

            The traditional opening opponent for the Lady Knights solved Kaneland on Tuesday in Maple Park by a 25-13, 26-24 margin.

            Sophomore asset Jessica Lubic had eight digs, two blocks and eight assists on the evening, while Casey Komel had four kills.

            Lower class action had the sophomores drop a 25-21, 21-25, 26-28 matchup with BC. The freshman “A” crowd lost 25-10, 25-12, and the “B” team lost 25-23, 25-22.

            The Lady Knights travel to Wheaton North High School for a tournament at 4:30 on Thursday, Sept. 4, when their opponent will be Glenbard West.
