Edward Neal “Tip” Cooper, 80, of Aurora, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014. He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Kincaid, Ill., the son of the late Muncie Elbert and Amy Eileen (Green) Cooper.
Tip served in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War and was a member of AmVets. He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and spending time with his family. Tip retired from Layne-Western after over 35 years of service. He was a member of Local 150 IUOE for over 50 years.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas E. Cooper and Jack (Karen) Cooper; grandchildren, Christopher Cooper, Tracy Cooper, Alexandra Jenkins and Jenna (Dan) Parrot; great-grandson, Caleb; last surviving brother, Glen E. Cooper of Cape Coral, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray, M.E., Jerry, Don and Bill Cooper; and a granddaughter, Sara Cooper.
Visitation was held Wednesday at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30, at The Healy Chapel. Interment will take place at Kaneville Cemetery.
