KHS schedule change may be postponed
Officials consider waiting another year for 8-period days
KANELAND—Kaneland School District officials have set a plan in motion which, if carried out, will push the change to an eight-block schedule at Kaneland High School to the 2012-13 school year.
School District fills in administrative gaps
Interim Kaneland High School Principal Greg Fantozzi is allowed to work only 120 days during a given school year, due to his retirement contract, so district administrators addressed the ripple effect this will have by assigning additional administrative responsibilities to current staff and filling in the gaps as needed.

The administration made the choice to hire an interim high school principal when Tony Valente resigned in June, after most potential candidates had already signed contracts for the upcoming school year.

Former Geneva High School principal Dr. Greg Fantozzi will take over as interim principal at Kaneland High School this fall.
During the two years since Fantozzi retired from school administration, he has been a principal mentor, a role in which retired principals provide guidance to principals in their first year on the job.
Fantozzi mentored former high school principal Tony Valente for both years, learning a great deal about Kaneland in the process.
