MAPLE PARK—Watch out, Knights football fans. The Kaneland Knights football roster got a taste of playoff action a year ago after being absent in 2007, and liked what they had.

MAPLE PARK—The end of the year awards and spring awards were handed out on June 9, recognizing the year-long effort of Knight athletes.

The Kaneland Sports Boosters award four $500 scholarships a year to two senior girls and two senior boys who have applied by writing an essay entitled "Lessons Learned in Victory and Defeat."

This past weekend, Kaneland High School junior Logan Markuson lept right over hurdles and into the IHSA State record books.

Before the season, boys track coach Eric Baron had a good feeling about his team's chances this season.

Kaneland saw plenty of top finishers as it prepares for the important Freeport Sectional this Friday, May 22.

Knights boys track finished an exceptional second place in the 11-team Seegers Track and Field Classic at Sycamore on Friday evening.

Kaneland wasted no time impressing faithful fans at the Peterson Prep on Saturday, and continued the top-notch effort on Tuesday in familiar territory.

At the Illinois Prep Top Times Indoor Classic in Bloomington, Kaneland's presence was felt in a number of events.

Fourth-year head coach Eric Baron is happy where things are at with boys track. “We’re ahead of where we’ve been since I’ve been here. We are as deep and as good as we’ve been in awhile,” Baron said.
