Howard C. Dietz, 91, of Batavia, passed away, Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle, Ill. He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Chicago, the son of George and Harriet (nee Grodowski) Dietz.
He was united in marriage to Darlene Bennet on Oct. 28, 1950, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, located in Nashua, Iowa.
Howard was a member of the Kane County Car Club, Thunderbird Club International and the Chicago Thunderbird Club. He served in the United States Army for three years during World War II.
He is survived by three sons, Robert (Linda) Dietz of Elburn, Thomas H. Dietz of St. Charles and Todd (Yvonne) Dietz of Oswego, Ill.; three grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Kramer, Amanda (Chad) Render and Sean (fiancee, Stephanie Jones) Dietz; great-grandchildren, Chase (Ashlee), Madison and Logan Kramer; and the family’s beloved dogs, Sophie, Fiona and Chloe.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, and a brother, Leroy Dietz.
Visitation was held Friday at Moss Family Funeral Home in Batavia. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment followed at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia.
