The Kaneland High School wrestling program can be pleased that they not only sent two wrestlers to the Class 2A State meet at Assembly Hall in Champaign, but also had those grapplers get a win on the Illini mat.

Fortunately for Knights wrestling, offseason plans aren’t starting just yet.

Thanks to a fourth-place finish at Saturday’s regional at Belvidere High School, five Knight grapplers are scheduled to compete at this weekend’s sectional out at the home of the Sterling Golden Warriors.

At the annual Flott Wrestling Invite on Saturday, the Knight grapplers saw plenty of first-place accolades come their way in an invite win.

Kaneland wrestling saw its prolific dual meet streak end on Thursday night vs. Yorkville, but still managed to get one win out of three opponents at a dual meet on Saturday.

Monday saw Kaneland High School dish out their annual awards for the fall sports season.

This might be the Kaneland High School wrestling version of a high-powered passing offense in football or a run-and-gun in basketball.
