KANELAND—An 8-1 start a year ago turned into a 14-19 finish for a softball group hoping for bigger things.

KANELAND—It was unfortunate that the end result of Kaneland Lady Knights softball failed to match the ideal weather of the past week.

he Kane County Xplosion 14U won its second-consecutive USSSA State Tournament Championship after going 7-0 at the tournament held in Rockford, Ill.

Kaneland—The Kaneland Krier took home the Golden Eagle, a trophy for best student newspaper in its class, for the second year in a row at the Northern Illinois Scholastic Press Association conference.
