NIU announces spring dean’s list

Northern Illinois University announced its spring 2010 dean’s list.

Local students include Caitlan Ayala, Stephanie Dietiker, Jon Gustafson, Meredith Haring, Spencer Johnson, Erika McIlnay, Matthew Ritschdorff, Samantha Stammet, Mary Trotier, Andrew Weissenburger, Kelsey Drendel, Corinne Lenhardt, Dominick Parillo and Troy Thorgesen, all of Elburn.

Maple Park students include Kelsey Borg, Crystal Edwards, Amy Rivers, Amy Seyller, Daniel Twait, Matthew Jenny and Alexis Weber.

Sugar Grove students include Jonathan Easto, Janelle Harner, Linda Huber, Rachel McDowell, Sarah McLennan, Monica Ratiu and Sofia Zafar.

Huber, Zafar inducted into NIU honor societies

Linda Huber of Sugar Grove was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, an international honor society for juniors and seniors, at Northern Illinois University’s Honor Day ceremonies held in April.

Sofia Zafar of Sugar Grove was inducted into the Pleiades chapter of the Mortor Board Senior Honor Socitiety, one of the most distinguished honor societies in higher education. Induction into the Mortor Board signifies high achievement in scholarship, leadership and service to the community.

Northern Illinois University announced its fall 2009 dean’s list students.

Those from the area who achieved the criteria are Caitlan Ayala, Stephanie Dietiker, Carly Dillavou, Kelsey Drendel, Krista Escamillo, Ashley Farmer, Micaelyn Janke, Spencer Johnson, Joseph Krachala, Erika McItnay, Teodor Paraskevov, Matthew Ritschdorff, Andrew Weissenburger and Victoria Yuracheck, all of Elburn; Jonathan Easto, William Homan, Linda Huber, Rachel Mcdowell, Matthew Milligan, Amber Morris, Monica Ratiu, Brittany Schirmer, Lindsay Stahl, Jennifer Walker and Sofia Zafar, all of Sugar Grove; and Danila Colosi, Christopher Edwards, Crystal Edwards, Esther Espino, Michael Jenny, Elspeth Klotz, Amy Rivers, Alexis Weber and Christine Williams, all of Maple Park.

NIU announces Spring 2009 dean’s list

Northern Illinois University anounced its dean’s list for the spring of 2009.

Local students named to the list include Stephanie Dietiker, Kelsey Drendel, Krista Escamillo, Ian Essling, James Gust, Alex Arnold, Meredith Haring, James Harrison, Jessica Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Joseph Krachala and Dominick Parillo, all of Elburn; Kelsey Borg, Danilla Colosi, Cherlyn Ladford, Rachel Mcdowell, Drew Olson, Ashley Schultz and Amy Seyller, all of Maple Park; Raquel Debartolo, William Homan, Linda Huber, Emily Krickl, Sarah McLennan, Kara Payne, Monica Ratlu, Brittany Schirmer, Ashley Schroeder and Lindsay Stahl, all of Sugar Grove.

Students enrolled in the colleges of Business, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Visual Arts, and Health and Human Sciences must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale to be named to the dean’s list. Students enrolled in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology must meet a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Waubonsee announces class of 2009 graduates

Waubonsee Community College awarded degrees to 675 graduates at its 2009 commencement ceremony on May 28. The college’s Class of 2009 includes the following graduates:
