Local residents earn degrees from Western Governors University

The following local students have received degrees from Western Governors University. The online university awarded nearly 900 degrees at its semi-annual commencement ceremonies held in Salt Lake City on July 11.

Mary Miller of Elburn received a Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies, while Kimberly Branca of Elburn completed a post baccalaureate teacher preparation program in elementary education grades.

Author pays visit to KMS

Kaneland Middle School Library announced that Eric Berlin, author of “The Puzzling World of Winston Breen,” will visit KMS on Thursday, April 16.

One team from each grade level earned the opportunity to participate in an interactive assembly with Eric Berlin during the school day. The school also arranged for all KMS families to be able to visit Eric and purchase copies of his newest book, “The Potato Chip Puzzles,” set to be released on April 16. The family event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
