United Way of Central Kane County, the National Association for Letter Carriers, and the National Rural Letter Carriers expresses their appreciation to all who donated food and volunteered their time.
In St. Charles and Elburn over 12,300 pounds of food was donated. Volunteers from the Tri-Cities Salvation Army assumed the task of picking up and sorting food.
“We did it the United Way…working together,†said Food Drive Coordinator, Mike Stetar. “This food drive is essential in helping those families suffering from hunger during these tough economic times. This year we collected more food than last year. In these tough economic times, the generosity of others is appreciated. Their support helps to fill the shelves of our local food pantriesâ€
