KANELAND—Coming a little later due to the storybook run of Kaneland baseball, KHS released its spring sports awards for 2010-11, highlighting a successful first step into Northern Illinois Big XII play.

JOLIET—In high school baseball postseason, only one team can follow through on its aim to run the table and win its last game.

SYCAMORE—Bobby Thorson may have never pitched a bigger game in his life.

Jacob Razo may have not had a bigger hit in a his life.

KANELAND—If only Bobby Thorson wasn’t able to throw a complete game and hit a grand slam on April 20, the Knights-Barbs clash on the diamond would have been much closer.

KANELAND—Knights baseball is on a bit of a roll.

Thursday, Kaneland (6-4, 2-0 NIB-12) used two runs in the top of the second and two more in the top of the fifth to nail down a 4-1 win at Rockton, Ill., mainstay Hononegah High School.

KANELAND—Some talented players at key positions and the last-ever Western Sun Conference regular season title made for some good memories for Kaneland baseball in 2010.

KANELAND—In Monday’s regional opener play-in game against fifth-seeded Hampshire, the fourth-seeded Knights were bombarded by opposing offense and failed fundamentals.

KANELAND—It looks like the Kaneland baseball roster has no problem scoring runs.
Now, all that’s left is making sure that always translates to wins.

KANELAND—Knights baseball won any which way it could in a week that saw three of four games in the “W” column.

MAPLE PARK—Kaneland High School baseball seems to raise the bar every year, and this season hopes to be no different.
