Kaneland—For four consecutive years, the Kaneland Lady Knights soccer contingent has made it to the regional final match, only to lose to Crystal Lake Central in 2009 and 2012, and Rosary in 2010 and 2011.

KANELAND—It looks like the Knights soccer team is an expert in playing close matches.

KANELAND—KHS coach Scott Parillo has seen his team go through just about everything on the pitch.

A 2010 postseason saw the Knights play nine postseason overtimes enroute to a regional championship—the first for a head-to-head sport at Kaneland in five years—before losing to Sterling in the sectional semifinal.

KANELAND—Despite dropping a potential preview for the upcoming regional title match to Burlington Central on Saturday, the Lady Knights have quietly meshed a roster of young and experienced, injured and healthy, and are about to dive foot first into playoff action.

KANELAND—When you put up a seven-spot in soccer, you know something’s gone right.

With six goals in the first half, the Lady Knights picked up a conference win and upped their record to 7-3-1 after a 7-0 solving of the visiting Rochelle Hubs.

KANELAND—In Afghanistan, moments of kindness are always welcome in the face of hardship.

KANELAND—After struggling in the previous two outings against conference rival DeKalb, the Knights soccer team (12-6-1) triumphed on Tuesday night in Barb-land.

KANELAND—Once again, the Kaneland High School soccer roster found a way to acquaint itself with the back of the opposing net on Thursday.

KANELAND—While an 11-11-2 record from a year ago might not seem super impressive, the way Kaneland boys soccer went about arriving to that final mark was noteworthy.

AURORA—In the case of Kaneland soccer in regional finals, bad things come in threes.

KANELAND—There would be no West Aurora Blackhawk Tournament championship like in 2010, but there would be no tournament-ending loss for Lady Knights soccer.

KANELAND—It was a season to remember, and an ending to forget.

Kaneland would love to have the regional championship loss to Rosary High School back. The season which ended at 15-3-5 under soccer coach Scott Parillo and a cohesive senior unit had a chance for redemption in 2011.
