William Garcia Jr. passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his home. He was born April 11, 1960, in Chicago.
William graduated from Bowen High School in Chicago in 1979. He then began working at South Chicago Bank, now known as Charter One, for about 15 years. He attended Aurora University and DePaul University.
William had worked for BMO Harris Bank in Oswego since 2001. He was also a past governor and volunteer at the Aurora Moose Club.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Garcia, nee Granado; four children, Joann Cervantez, Maryann Cervantez, Matthew Garcia and Sarah Garcia; his grandchildren, Lilly Arambula, Diego Garcia and Jasmine Colunga; his siblings, Donna and Liz Garcia; as well as several nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Garcia Sr.
Funeral services were held on on Saturdayat The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove. Fr. Jerome Leake officiated. Visitation was held on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
William was a very caring person who took great pride and joy in being a grandfather and father, as well. He will always be known as having a great sense of humor. He considered himself the No. 1 fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Blackhawks. William will be dearly missed by family and friends, but will always remain in their hearts.
